Why Occulert Exists
Drowsy driving kills thousands of people every year. Unlike drunk driving, there is no breathalyzer for fatigue — and most drivers don't realize how impaired they actually are until it is too late.
Occulert is being built to explore whether browser-based AI and on-device camera processing can identify eye-closure patterns associated with fatigue on a standard smartphone. The prototype is not validated to prevent crashes and may miss events or trigger false alerts.
